Alison Dempsey is the Social Media Editor for Parenting Magazine and Parenting.com, part of the Bonnier Corporation. She is responsible for developing Parenting’s social media strategy, executing social programs, analyzing social performance, and monetizing social media.
In the past year, Alison has helped Parenting grow their Facebook audience by over 300% and has increased Facebook referred traffic to the Parenting.com by over 100%. She has a strong passion for the psychology behind social sharing, and her extensive research has driven Bonnier to develop a socially-driven content strategy.
Alison was recently named the 2011 Social Media All-Star Award by Audience Development Magazine. She also helped Parenting score a gold award for the Best Use of Social Media by MIN (Magazine Industry News), beating out major media titles like People.com and Time.com.
Before working in media, Alison spent four years managing integrated marketing for the ‘got milk? Milk Mustache Campaign’ in Washington, DC.
Alison graduated Summa Cum Laude from Loyola University in Maryland where she received a Bachelors degree in advertising and marketing. She currently lives in Jersey City, NJ with her husband John.
