Nyagoslav Zhekov is a 23-year-old recent college grad. He received his Alma Mater in the University of Economics - Varna, Bulgaria, majoring in marketing and management in tourism. He began his SEO career while still in college on an internship in Osaka as an in-house Internet marketer for a Japanese company. His responsibilities revolved around on-site optimization, AdWords management and finding new, non-Japanese partners via different marketing strategies. Then, he moved on to briefly become a local SEO specialist for the Bulgarian branch of a US local marketing firm. There he took care of the local SEO service and Google Places management for about 200 of the firm's clients. Having found a passion for the field and learned a lot at the jobs mentioned and on his free time, he realized his ambition to build his own SEO firm. This is how, right upon his college graduation in May 2011, OptiLocal was born.
It quickly went uphill from there. For its short life so far the company worked on the online marketing of over 30 businesses of different niches and sizes, mainly drawn by Nyagoslav’s growing reputation as a local search marketing and Google Places expert. This increasing authority is backed up by his recognition by the readership of his blog which includes top experts in the field such as Mike Blumenthal, Andrew Shotland and others, by his stature as a Top Contributor on the Google Places Help Forum and his invitation for guest blogging on Search Engine People. Nyagoslav is determined to scale his project in a quality and patient way and make it one of the top local search marketing companies out there
