Nan has over 25 years of experience touching almost every aspect of the communications industry, including conventional advertising and marketing, public relations, and digital marketing communications. She began her career at J. Walter Thompson where she worked on the national advertising campaigns of retail and consumer products accounts such as Burger King and Ford Motor Company. After building and selling a successful Washington, D.C. ad agency specializing in automotive, Nan felt the call of the Internet. She built and marketed some of the first Web sites for national and international charities, advocacy organizations, foundations and associations, and subsequently founded RedBoots Consulting, the first search marketing firm specializing in search engine optimization and pay per click search marketing for nonprofit organizations.
Nan speaks at a variety of conferences, including Search Engine Strategies, ASAE (American Society of Association Executives), SIPA (Specialized Information Publishers Association), and WOMMA (Word of Mouth Marketing Association).
Nan writes a regular column on measurement for Marketing Land and speaks at numerous industry conferences. She holds a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Oklahoma and an M.A. from George Washington University.
