Geoffrey Colon is Group Marketing Manager of Social Media at Microsoft in the Search Business Group (Bing Ads) in Bellevue, Washington. In his role, Geoffrey leads a global team of social media marketers who create and execute tactical social communication strategies to help drive education and adoption of the Bing Ads platform by premium and small to medium sized business marketers and advertisers. He is also a subject matter expert on personal branding, the DIY economy, socializing the enterprise and disruptive innovation.
Prior to joining Microsoft, Geoffrey was vice president of digital strategy at Ogilvy & Mather in New York City. In that role, Geoffrey created and executed tactical social strategies for a variety of business divisions within IBM including Mobile, Cloud, Systems and Technology, Midmarket, Software and the Smarter Planet brand. He wrote several of the top thought leadership pieces for the agency including one on content as the new currency for Fast Company.
Colon was also Supervisor of Digital Communities at 2013 digital agency of the year 360i and Social Media Specialist at Bond Strategy and Influence. He has worked with dozens of clients in a variety of disciplines including American Express, Coca-Cola, Lysol, Kraft, Smirnoff, Spotify, The Food Network, Netflix, USA Network, A&E, History, HGTV and Invisalign.
Geoffrey possesses more than 20 years of experience in marketing, much of that in the social, digital and growth hacking disciplines. Prior to joining Bond Strategy and Influence, Colon created and ran his own consulting company from 2002 to 2006 called Frenzy. Frenzy was one of the first influencer marketing companies leveraging relationships over traditional PR now offered as a discipline by the majority of PR and social media agencies. Frenzy’s clients included Red Bull Energy Drink, Sirius Satellite Radio and RCA Records.
Mr. Colon is a 1994 graduate of Lehigh University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Communications and a minor in Political Science.

He released his first book in September 2015 entitled “#WeAreAllMedia” about how do-it-yourself creation, production and distribution tools have altered the brand communications ecosystem putting authenticity ahead of branded narratives.
