Kelly Gillease is the Vice President, Marketing for Viator, the leading provider of destination activities worldwide. In addition to actively managing Viator's in-house search engine marketing efforts, she also oversees email marketing, affiliates, mobile and other online marketing programs. Previously Kelly was a Senior Marketing Manager at Yahoo! in the Media Group heading up in-house search engine marketing efforts for Games, Fantasy Sports and Finance and contributing to other online marketing and search projects. Prior to Yahoo! Kelly managed search engine marketing at Hotwire, and post-acquisition by IAC -InterActive Corp, worked on marketing projects with Hotels.com, Expedia and other IAC companies. Her first foray into the internet was working at Ask.com on the editorial team, and then in engineering.
Kelly also does volunteer work on non-profits' applications for Google Grants and helps implement and monitor their AdWords efforts. Recently she's worked with Big Brothers Big Sisters, Shanti.org and the Community Technology Network in San Francisco.
Kelly is the host of SEMcast, a search engine marketing podcast on geekcast.fm. She has been a speaker at several SMX conferences and regularly posts about in-house search engine marketing issues on her blog, inhousesem.com and for the In House Search Marketing column on Search Engine Land. Kelly is a graduate of UC Berkeley, with degrees in English and Economics and a minor in Russian Literature.
