Michelle entered technology in 1995, and has overseen all aspects Third Door Media's technology initiatives and web presences since its founding in 2006. She has built and leads the company's development team, which, in addition to keeping the trains running on time for each of the 5 Third Door Media brand web sites ( Search Engine Land, Marketing Land, Search Marketing Expo, Digital Marketing Depot, and MarTech), also develops and maintains numerous custom back end applications and tools for each of the brands, to support operations and further TDM's growth and the marketing services capabilities.
Prior to joining Third Door Media, Michelle consulted on web development and digital marketing, developing custom applications and implementing various web marketing initiatives for her clients including American Airlines, Honda Civic Tour, DMX Music, and more. Before making the switch to tech, Michelle lead the alternative radio promotion department at Disney's commercial record label. She is passionate about engaging more women - and especially young teens - in the field of STEM, and actively mentors local high school students. She is a long time member of WITI (Women in Technology, International) and has moderated and spoken at the annual WITI conference, conducted a webinar for the WITI membership, and regularly speaks at domestic and international search marketing conferences.
Michelle has two bachelor degrees from the University of California, Irvine, and lives in southern California with her husband and two children.
