Who is responsible for the SMX East content?

SMX East is programmed by the editors of Search Engine Land, the website that search marketers trust to deliver decision-informing news and thought-provoking analysis. Search Engine Land editor-in-chief Danny Sullivan and Executive Editor Chris Sherman lead content development.

How can I attend?

All Access Pass
You may register for the entire conference, which will give you access to all sessions including keynotes and educational sponsored sessions, speaker presentations, exhibit hall, free WiFi access, refreshment breaks, networking lunches, and parties including the SMX Meet & Greet opening reception.

Expo+ Pass
Expo+ passes are free if you register online. They will be $50 on site. This pass will give you access to the Expo Hall, presentations in the SMX Theater and “Plus Sessions” hosted by SMX sponsors.

Will the workshops be held at the Javits Center?

No. The workshops will be held at the official conference hotel, the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers, 811 Seventh Avenue, New York, NY, 10019.

When is the last day to register for the conference?

Registration will be open until the conference ends. We recommend you register early to secure your pass and hotel accommodations. The conference hotel fills up quickly.

What forms of payment are accepted and when is the payment due?

The following forms of payment are accepted: American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Diners Club and PayPal. Payment is required to complete your registration.

May more than one person from my company attend?

Absolutely! Bring as many colleagues as you’d like! In fact we’ve implemented three group ticketing packages at substantial discounts to help you:

What is the cancellation policy?

You may cancel your attendance by notifying our registration department by fax at (203) 702-5389 or email registration@searchmarketingexpo.com by August 27, 2010. Your registration will be refunded less a $100 processing fee. Cancellations after August 27, 2010 are non-refundable. You may transfer your registration to another person at any time by notifying registration at smxwest@searchmarketingexpo.com.

How do I book a room?

During the registration process, you will have the opportunity to secure your accommodations at a special negotiated rate. You may also book your room by calling 1(877) 242-5242. To get the special SMX rate, you must book your accommodations during registration or by calling the number above; the Sheraton New York will not book SMX East guest at this special rate directly.

What is the attire?

Business casual.

What is Third Door Media?

What are the terms and conditions?

SMX is open to business professionals 18 years and over only. Management may request a business card and photo ID prior to admission.

Third Door Media, Inc. reserves the right to make any changes it deems necessary to this program. We will make commercially reasonable efforts to retain speakers and their presentation topics. However, unforeseen circumstances may result in the substitution of a presentation topic or speaker.

Third Door Media, Inc. reserves the right to use photographs of any Search Marketing Expo attendee in promotional materials.

Third Door Media, Inc. assumes no liability for the acts of its suppliers nor for the safety of any Search Marketing Expo participant while traveling to or from this event. The total liability during the hours of the meeting will be limited to a refund of the delegate fee.

Can I record what is presented at SMX East?

Sessions may be audio recorded without special permission for personal use only. They cannot be placed online or transmitted to others without permission.

Sessions may be videoed only with special permission for personal use and also cannot be placed online or transmitted to others. Short audio and video clips may be used for blogging and press coverage of session. As a general guide, non-contiguous clips of one minute or less should be used. Contact us if you need guidance about longer clips.
