SMX takes pitches in two rounds: for session ideas and speaking pitches. Our Speaking At SMX page provides an overview of the entire pitch process. Please read that page before using the form below.
The form on this page allows you participate in the first round of pitching for an SMX event, the session ideas round. This is for SMX events that haven’t yet posted an agenda. For events that DO have posted agendas, you need to use the speaking pitch form.
Pitching a session idea for one of our SMX conferences is the very best way to increase the odds of speaking. Suggest a great session, and if it makes it to the final agenda of a show, there’s an excellent chance you’ll be one of the speakers.
If your session suggestion is accepted, and you are accepted to speak as part of that, you’ll receive a pass to the entire SMX event. Travel and accommodation are not provided. We do try to notify everyone using this form if they have been accepted or rejected as a speaker, usually within two weeks of the final agenda for a show being posted.
Not accepted to speak as part of having submitted a session pitch? There’s a second chance to participate when the final agenda for an event is posted. Use the speaking pitch form for that.
Please do not contact our conference chairs directly with your pitch. Honest, this form is the best way to get your pitch in front on them.
We’re now asking that submissions come directly from the person making the pitch, in their name, with their email address. If you’re a PR person or firm, you can work with the speaker to help them craft the submission. You can even fill out the form on their behalf, as long as they have reviewed the submission.
We have this policy because we’ve found that the best pitches come when speakers themselves make a submission. We’ve also found that the majority of bad pitches have come from PR people who blindly pitch ideas without reviewing our guidelines. In some cases, they’ve not even consulted with a potential speaker at all on the pitch.
To further increase the odds of being accepted, also review past SMX agendas for a particular show.
No form below? Then we are not currently accepting session pitches for any SMX event. Please check back or watch the SMX Blog for news about when we accepting pitches. Typically, we ask for pitches about 2-3 months before an event.
