Stefan Waldeck, Senior Marketing Manager Nordics, Yahoo! Search Marketing
As Senior Marketing Manager Nordics, Stefan has overall responsibility for Yahoo! Search Marketing communications in the Nordics; including the company websites and the localization of the new Sponsored Search Account Management platform.
Waldeck is also responsible for the new customer acquisitions, and the development and growth in the small business segment. Mainly using keyword advertising, affiliate programs and direct mailings as marketing tools.
Prior to launching Overture and introducing Sponsored Search in the Nordic markets, Waldeck has been working with media sales, marketing and business development in companies like Nokia, LibertySurf/Tiscali and Telia InfoMedia.
As Business Development Manager at Telia Infomedia, Waldeck initiated the banner advertising network Netpool. He participated in the set up and launch of 5 companies in the four Nordic markets. This was in 1998-1998.
Thereafter Waldeck was the first Scandinavian employee at the UK ISP start-up, X-Stream Networks. Working as Sales and Marketing Director he successfully launched the service and portal. A year later LibertySurf aquired the company. After re-branding to LibertySurf the ISP attracted over 230 000 dial-up Internet users in 6 months. Waldeck directly managed the marketing, sales and business development teams, introducing a range of new products like dating and IM-chatting.
Here, he forged strong relationships co-branding distribution partners, including key brands like Statoil, Ahlens, SF and ON OFF among others. He also worked closely with banner advertising networks like 24/7 and DoubleClick for the banner advertising sales, during this period. Most recently at Nokia, Waldeck, Waldeck was Business Development Director managing the development of the integrated advertiser platform for Nokia Media Terminal, a Digital-TV receiver with hard drive and broadband connection. Attracting clients like Fox Kids, Universal, SAS and Svenska Spel, among others.
