Thomas Svensson, Independent Consultant, Sitelynx
With an academic background in Economics from University of Lund, started at Scandiaconsult AB in Stockholm. 1990 he moved back to southern Sweden and started his own consultancy, and 1992 became sales manager of a distributor of LPG called FGC AB. FGC was acquired by Kuwait Petroleum in 1994.
As Product/Marketing manager in the industrial division of Kuwait Petroleum Sweden 1994, he saw the potential in the growing internet and started a web agency in 96, realising very soon that building website traffic was crucial for any serious website. Webpromote Sweden was founded in 1997 and was Scandinavia's second SEO company, and started to co-operate with Sitelynx in 1997. Thomas joined the Sitelynx board in 1997.
Sitelynx Ltd are one of Europe's first search engine and navigation marketing companies, providing internet marketing strategy and consultancy for dominating strategic brand visibility across all digital network media platforms, increased content distribution and cost effective digital direct marketing.
In 1999 Thomas was recruited to Flycast banner network as Managing Director in Scandinavia with the objective to set up operations in Scandinavia. Engage (ENGA) acquired Flycast in 2000. Thomas co-founded and joined MediaClippings a financial search engine in May 2000 as CTO, developing pattern recognition technology. At the same time Thomas became an independent consultant for HHIT, Sweden's leading Investor Relation agency in issues regarding branding and search technology. In 2002 Thomas was engaged by Notabene.net to set up Yahoo Express in Scandinavia.
After launching of Mirago, a UK based PPC searchengine in the Nordic region between 2005 and early 2007. Thomas is now back working as a independent consultant, as well as working with international issues and clients for Sitelynx.
