Fredrik Åhlén has a master’s of science in computer security and started working with e-commerce 2005. He has been working with several platforms/technologies as developer, e-commerce consultant, technical trainer and technical architect, always with focus on performance, security and SEO.
On-page optimization and solving complex technical SEO issues is topics Fredrik prefer, other favorites he likes to talk about are keyword research and link strategies.

Sara has an international marketing degree and has worked with search engine marketing since 1999. She was the founder of the first search engine marketing department of the Outrider group (part of WPP) in Sweden and is still one of the pioneers in the market. She later became Head of Search EMEA at Global Strategies Intl. managing clients such as IBM, Samsung, BP and P&G. Global strategies Intl. was acquired by neo@Ogilvy in 2007. Sara has 10 years experience in conducting high level strategic search consultancy for clients with high complexity and is now managing her own company; Search Integration Sweden AB. At Search Integration she is focused on helping clients understand search and how to integrate this in their overall business and marketing plans to drive and measure success at the bottom line. The job often involves helping clients define the actual search marketing need and how it can best support other activities but also in many cases evaluate what can be outsourced and what should be kept internal. Sara’s mission at Search Integration is to shape the search marketing world in Sweden and EMEA and provide knowledge and competence to small and big clients in their role as a buyer and user of search marketing services.

Massimo Burgio, Co-Chair, SEMPO

Massimo Burgio is passionately dedicated to search marketing, and an expert on international online business topics. He is a frequent speaker at the conferences in Europe, the United States and worldwide (Search Engine Strategies Conferences, SMX Conferences, Search Insider Summit, Sydney Search Summit, WebGuild, Internet Standard).

Burgio is a proud active member of the Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO), where he is part of the Board of Directors, and co-Chairs both the Global Committee and the European Working Group.

As an education background, Massimo Burgio received a Degree in Marketing Communications from the University of Rome (I) La Sapienza, with further studies at the University of Hertfordshire (Hatfield, UK) and at the Universidad de Oviedo (Spain), lately integrated with Integrated Marketing Communications Post-graduate courses within the Berkeley Extension Program (California, USA).

With early steps in advertising as an advertising copywriter (1990), a degree in Marketing Communications, first post-graduate jobs in direct marketing (1993), and an analyst experience in IT security and data protection consulting (1995), Massimo has been operating in the Internet and interactive industry since its early steps in Italy, back in 1996.

After contributing to the start-up and launch of some of Italy’s biggest Internet consumer portals such as Kataweb, Wind, and RAI Net, he moved on the agency side in the year 2000, operating as Business/Marketing Director for two of Italy’s top creative interactive agencies, Deepend Rome and Xister.

Burgio moved from Rome to San Francisco in 2003 to launch and manage the California branch of Ad Maiora, an Italian search marketing firm. In October 2005 he joined the interactive/search agency Zunch Communications to help launch and lead the agency’s local branch in San Francisco.

In late 2006, Massimo created Global Search Interactive, an agency that focuses on the integration of search/interactive/social media channels for online campaigns with an International reach, serving worldwide brands such as Barilla, Pitti Immagine and BEA Systems, and offering services, consultancy, training and support to several search engine and interactive agencies worldwide. In 2008, Massimo joined the Management Team at Art Attack Advertising, a leading online/offline advertising agency in Rome where he is working on developing a 2.0 search-inspired team to support a new range of agency services.


Phil Dance, Client Development Manager, Efficient Frontier

Phil Dance serves as Efficient Frontier’s Client Development Manager where he is responsible for ensuring Efficient Frontier’s technology is deployed in the best way across its European clients. He also leads custom projects and is Efficient Frontier’s troubleshooting and integration specialist in Europe. Phil has experience working across a number of sectors including Retail, Finance and Travel and has four years of experience working in search engine marketing. Phil has a BA Hons in Business Management from the University of Sheffield.


Richard Gregory, COO, Latitude

As Chief Operating Officer, Richard is responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of Search Engine Marketing campaigns for all of Latitude’s clients. He also provides clients with strategic advice on the European Search Engine Marketplace.

Richard has served Latitude in a wide variety of roles since joining in October 2002, including Account Director, Head of Production, Head of Search and New Business Manager. Richard was heavily involved in the development of COBRA, Latitude’s proprietary bid management software. He also helped put together Europe’s largest team of search specialists.

Prior to joining the company, Richard worked in account and project management and business development for online agencies in London and Leeds. He handled accounts such as BT Cellnet (now O2), Volvo, Channel 4, MTV and Cadbury’s. He helped build the Poulter Net team, the new media division of Poulter Partners, a Leeds-based advertising agency.
