Dr. Aaron M. Wester, PhD, is Director Analytics for Covario, the leading global search marketing agency, and a Computer Information Technology Professor for Brigham Young University (BYUI). Dr. Wester has both a PhD in Information Systems Technology, and an MBA in Technology Management, from University of Phoenix School of Advanced Science and John Sperling School of Business.
Previously, Dr. Wester was Director Web Analytics for Deseret Digital Media, over several media organizations including NBC affiliate KSL.com, the 2nd most highly web trafficked broadcast media website in the United States (Hitwise, 2012), and Deseret news, the Pulitzer prize winning 2nd fastest growing newspaper in the United States in 2012 (Pew Research Center, 2012), KIRO Seattle, KTAR Phoenix, KSWD Los Angeles, and other top tiered media properties. He ran the web development teams for United Online (NetZero, Juno, and Classmates.com), and helped engineer curated content processes for Demand Media (eHow, LiveStrong, Cracked, Trails, Golflink, Demand Studios, eNom). Dr. Wester Directed web operations for United States Congress (H.I.R - House Information Resources) for the 127th district\'s Congressman James Rogan, when Congressman Rogan led the impeachment trial against former-President Bill Clinton. He also helped devise innovative statistical dashboards for Press Ganey, the leading analytics firm in the healthcare industry for patient satisfaction surveying to over 50% of hospitals and health care facilities in the United States.
Dr. Wester is a published author, having written Becoming a Web Designer skilled in the Ancient Art of Llama Herding, chapters in ONLINE! with John Dvorak and Chris Pirillo, and a doctoral dissertation entitled \"Readers\' Trust, Socio-Demographic, and Acuity Influences in Citizen Journalism Credibiity for Disrupted Online Newspapers\". He has also appeared as a guest segment host on G4TechTV show \'Call for Help\' with Chris Pirillo to a global audience of 54 million. Dr. Wester is also an active member and participant of the Salt Lake Search Marketers Association (SLC/SEM), Web Analytics Association (WAA), International World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), and Interactive Experience Design Association (IXDA).
